We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Performing the duties of a Structural Shipfitter daily.
- Job duties include but are not limited to measuring, laying out, cutting, grinding, forming and drilling of assorted materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, gasket, rubber, screen, etc.).
- Works from Engineering drawings, sketches and written and verbal instructions.
- Reading from computer screens to retrieve work instructions, blueprints or other documents
- Maintains records, forms and logs as required.
- Typical tools and equipment used in the performance of duties are: MIG and TIG welders, manual hand tools, mechanical, pneumatic, cordless and electric tools including porta power, come a long, clamps, hammers and mauls, gougers, grinders, saws, band saws, drills, tapes and scales.
- Must be capable of handling chemicals and solvents including alcohol, cleaning solvents, cutting oil, tool oil, etc.
- Housekeeping of shop and work area (keeping work area neat and clean) daily.
- Must visually inspect work to drawings and sketches for completeness and dimensional correctness.
- May direct the activities or tasks of helpers, as assigned.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Welding of aluminum materials in all positions. Must be able to work from standing, sitting, lying and kneeling positions. Some work must be accomplished with the use of mirror welding.
- Climbing on and over bulkheads, up and down ladders.
- Tack welding (kneeling, standing, sitting, lying, overhead burning of steel, dragging torch line)
- Use of jacks, porta-powers and come-a longs; some of which can weigh as much as 25 lbs.
- Lifting of material and tools (jacks, porta-powers, come-a longs, etc. Also loading and unloading of parts.
- Crawling through craft on top of tees and through manholes
- Bending and twisting of your body as needed to get into different compartments.
- Operation of cranes, forklifts
- Use of power tools (gougers, skill saws, cut saws, grinders). All require two hands on tools to operate in safe manner
- Walking on tops of frames and tees (uneven walking surfaces)
- Need to be able to work with your hands.

About This Role

A Maintenance Mechanic, under general supervision, is required to perform any and all tasks assigned by management based on the needs of the business.
- Perform preventive and repair tasks related to facility structure and equipment using diagnostic devices (i.e., torque wrenches, volt / ohm meter, etc.) which are provided by the Company.
- Primary work includes troubleshooting/repair of forklifts and vehicles. Needs experience in hydraulics and engine repairs. May include engine tune-ups or other vehicle maintenance with minimal supervision. Certification a plus.
- Specific duties may also include mechanical repairs, tubing mechanic work and minor welding; light carpentry, laminating; adhesive bonding of wall panels; painting; changing of light bulbs; general electrical and mechanical tasks such as changing oil filters on equipment, etc.
- Work from Engineering drawings, sketches and written and verbal instructions.
- May direct the activities or tasks of other employees.
- Maintain records, forms and logs as required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to research parts and place orders
- Some experience with compressed/vacuum systems
JOB SCOPE:
● Create and maintain detailed operational processes for parts, sub-assemblies, and engine build ensuring that mistake proofing techniques are incorporated into these processes.
● Utilization of CAD systems for the design, detail, and checking of simple to intermediate level jigs, fixtures, gauges, tools, and simple machines.
● Creation and maintenance of simple to intermediate level CNC programs for multiple axis machine tools including writing, editing, troubleshooting, and correcting tooling/programming problems.
● Tool designer owns process and program until proven out.
● Interface with numerous departments, including but not limited to, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Product Support, Materials, Procurement and Sales. Works across payrolls, functions and shifts to solve problems in a timely manner.
● Provide operational processes, designs, and programs in such a manner that complies with Lycoming processes and procedures to meet customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Perform assigned work in a safety conscious manner.
● Perform assigned work to specific quality and production standards.
● Maintain equipment, tools, and work area in a clean professional condition.
● Prepare or maintain all documentation necessary for the job classification.
● Perform other duties inherently required of the job classification.
● Must be capable and willing to adopt new technologies and travel up to 10% of the time for training and troubleshooting purposes.

About This Role
A Sr Welder – Training Lead (Aluminum), under the direction of a Production Supervisor, leads and directs the individual’s training and development related to aluminum welding within MLS manufacturing processes and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts the aluminum welding training of new hires and transfers based upon the needs of the department to which the individual will be assigned
- Adheres to MLS manufacturing requirements, quality standards and core competencies in the preparation and delivery of quality instruction
- Maintain training curriculum while continually improving and developing the training program as necessary
- Pace instruction and vary delivery to meet different learning styles
- Provide appropriate and timely feedback to training participants
- Maintains clean, effective, and professional learning environment
- Maintains accurate records of attendance, progress of participants and reports the same in a timely manner to the Training Manager
- Completes weld certification documentation in coordination with Quality Control and delivers completed paperwork to weld engineer
- Stays current with MLS welding technology, processes, and equipment
- Be able to read, interpret, and follow blueprints and welding symbols as it pertains to MLS manufacturing
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management.
- Works with Production Supervisor in the development and implementation of P.I.P. for individuals not meeting MLS quality and production standards

This position requires an individual who can work independently, with minimal supervision or in teams to complete projects on time and within budgets established by management. · Ensures that all components are assembled correctly.
· Identifying defects or problems to be repaired by hand or by machined tools (equipment).
· Using proper techniques for the job site; performs minor repairs on equipment as needed.
· Maintains accurate records regarding work performed at each stage of production.
· Works closely with other technicians to ensure quality control is maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
